AMOS ROBERTS STORY
RUGBY LEAGUE TO LABOUR PROFESSIONAL
From a well known family of professional sportsmen, Amos Roberts is a Bundjalung man with a distinguished twelve year professional rugby league career, playing 232 first grade games for the Dragons, Panthers, Roosters and Wigan Warriors, scoring 133 tries.
Amos was awarded the Dally M “Top Try Scorer and Winger of the Year” awards for 2004. While still holding the NRL premiership record for points scored on a first grade debut.
Early forced retirement from professional sport in 2012, allowed Amos to turn his focus and determination to his interest in the construction industry. He spent many years developing hands-on skills around rigging, civil works, general construction and bulk excavation as a site foreman across many projects.
This continued focus on achievement has lead today to the establishment of Amos Roberts Indigenous Labour Hire. A company he established with other long-term labour hire and traffic management professionals to fulfil another dream.
That of developing a strong Indigenous workforce committed to supporting the general Australian and Indigenous communities as a whole.
